Australian Organic Wool is a family operated business located in Newcastle, New South Wales.
The business was created by Mel McMillan after a fruitless search for an Australian organic wool yarn with which to knit for her children. Mel decided to create her own and in 2007 the first WOOLganic knitting yarn was spun. Mel passed the business on to hand dyer, fibre addict and knit-a-holic Susannah Williams in 2013 and she continues to produce these beautiful yarns.
Our yarns are spun from certified organic or biodynamic Australian merino fleece wool and are processed in accordance with organic standards.
Our dyed range of yarns are 4 and 8 ply, and we also supply natural hanks for hand dyers in 8ply.
